ISIS launches suicide attacks at Iraqi base housing US Marines
The Islamic State carried out a coordinated suicide bomber attack against the air base in western Iraq housing 320 US Marines. The Pentagon confirmed the extremist group has taken control of al-Baghdadi, which is just eight kilometers away from the base.
The Friday attack was conducted by approximately 25 Islamic State fighters, the Pentagon told Reuters, and several suicide bombers were involved. Some of them were reportedly able to detonate their vests, though the exact number is unclear. Some of the militants were able to sneak into the base wearing Iraqi uniforms, and they were killed by Iraqi troops when fighting broke out.
There are approximately 320 Marines at the base training Iraqi security forces, though the Pentagon said Marines were not involved in the fighting. No US or Iraqi casualties have been reported.
Sudan: Mass Rape by Army in Darfur
The 48-page report, “Mass Rape in Darfur: Sudanese Army Attacks Against Civilians in Tabit,” documents Sudanese army attacks in which at least 221 women and girls were raped in Tabit over 36 hours beginning on October 30, 2014. The mass rapes would amount to crimes against humanity if found to be part of a widespread or systematic attack on the civilian population.

Tragedy: Assemblies Of God Pastor, 2 Others Beheaded By Angry Youths
An Assemblies of God Church pastor and two other members who were earlier declared missing by Cross river state police command, have been found dead with no heads.
The pastor and 2 others who accompanied him on a pastoral visit were reportedly beheaded by fuming youths in Ediba.
Confirming the incident, the state police commissioner, Henry Fadairo disclosed that the pastor and the 2 other members of the Assemblies of God church in Mkpani area of Yakurr LGA, Cross River were slaughtered brutally and beheaded.
Police PRO, Hogan Bassey, also confirmed the incident, saying it was under investigation.
Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend and half brother alledgely banned from visiting her in hospital
Friends of Nick Gordon have spoken of his anguish at being banned from visiting girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown.
The 21-year-old is fighting for her life after being found face-down and unresponsive in the bath tub of the couple's Georgia home on January 31.
She has been kept in hospital in a medically induced coma.
Roswell Police have confirmed that a criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has been launched after Bobbi Kristina was found with injuries on her chest, and bruises on her mouth and face.
Murtala Nyako’s Son, Abdul-Aziz arrested by the EFCC
Barely two weeks after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, declared former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako and his son, Abdul-Aziz, wanted, operatives of the anti- graft agency, this morning arrested the younger Nyako in Gombe, Gombe State. He was immediately flown to Abuja where he is currently being grilled by a crack team of detectives who had been working on the Adamawa investigation for several months.
Abdul-Aziz, who was declared wanted by the EFCC in the case of stealing, abuse of office and money laundering, is currently telling investigators all he knows about illicit funds traced to companies where he has interest.
Oba of Benin is alive -Traditional council
The Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, has dismissed the rumour that he had passed on.
The speculation on the monarch’s demise had gone viral on the Internet on Friday morning.
The rumour also intensified with the claim that the Oba did not personally receive President Goodluck Jonathan, during his February 4 presidential rally in Benin, the Edo State capital.
But the Benin Traditional Council, told our correspondent on Friday evening that it was a mere speculation, which had been on for over six months and lacked truth.
The Secretary to the council, Mr. Frank Irabor, explained that it was the responsibility of the council to issue a formal statement, if such a development did occur.

Myanmar Clashes With Rebels Leave 47 Soldiers Dead
YANGON, Myanmar—Clashes between Myanmar troops and ethnic Kokang rebels near the Chinese border have left 47 government soldiers dead and 73 wounded, state media said Friday.
The Global New Light of Myanmar said there have been more than 13 clashes in the last several days between government troops and rebels, with the government carrying out five airstrikes. The number of rebel casualties wasn't immediately known.
It said the fighting has been serious enough for the government to inform China, which is concerned because the clashes force civilians to flee across the border.
Blast wounds eight police in Cairo - interior ministry
(Reuters) - A bomb detonated by suspected Islamist militants wounded eight police officers and one civilian in the Cairo neighbourhood of Ain Shams, Egypt's Interior Ministry said.
The wounded included a police captain. A bomb squad was combing the area for other possible explosives, a ministry statement said.
Egypt is battling an Islamist insurgency that has killed hundreds of soldiers and police officers since the army led the summer 2013 removal of President Mohamed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood following mass protests against his rule.
The Egyptian affiliate of Islamic State claimed coordinated attacks last month that killed at least 30 security personnel in the Sinai Peninsula, some of the deadliest anti-government violence in years.
While most of the worst attacks have hit Sinai, a remote but strategic region bordering Gaza, Israel and Egypt's Suez Canal, smaller blasts and attacks have become increasingly common in Cairo and other cities.

Jackie Chan's son Jaycee freed after six months in Chinese jail on drugs charge
The son of kung fu star Jackie Chan has been released from a Chinese jail after serving a six-month term for drugs offences, his agent said.
Jaycee Chan, who like his father has worked as an actor and singer, was detained in August and charged with providing a venue for others to use drugs after police found 100 grams of marijuana at his home in Beijing.
He had already spent five months in prison when he was sentenced in January after pleading guilty to "the crime of sheltering others to take drugs", which carried a maximum prison term of three years.
The 32-year-old was set free from a prison in the Chinese capital early Friday morning, his management M'Stones International said in a statement.

The All Progressives Congress says Federal Government’s security agencies have bugged the mobile phones of a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and Senator Bukola Saraki.
The party added that the telephones of its National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had also been bugged by the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government.
The APC said this in a statement by Mohammed on Thursday.
