NFF plans big for Enyeama’s 100th cap
Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama will be honoured by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), when he makes his 100th appearance for the country on March 26, in a friendly match against Bolivia.
The Lille stopper will only become the second person to achieve this mark in 70 years. Former skipper, Joseph Yobo, is the other player to have achieved the 100-cap landmark and it came in the 2014 World Cup game against Argentina in Brazil.

Facebook has acquired The Find, a nine-year-old company with a search engine that indexes products across thousands of e-commerce sites.
The deal, the value of which was not disclosed, was announced in a post on The Find’s website.
“Key members of our team are joining the company and will be working hard to integrate our technology to make the ads you see on Facebook every day better and more relevant to you,” the company said.

The nun was hospitalized in serious condition after being attacked by seven or eight men at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in Nadia district, 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of the West Bengal state capital of Kolkata, a police officer said.
U.S. soldier hurt by gunfire in Iraq, first since training began
(Reuters) - A U.S. soldier on overnight guard duty at a base in Iraq was wounded this week when an attacker opened fire at his position, the first direct-fire casualty since U.S. forces began a mission to train Iraqi troops last year, the Pentagon said on Friday.
The soldier was cut on the nose by a bullet or a ricochet while looking over a concrete barricade trying to locate the source of a light observed by a fellow soldier in a guard tower, said Army Colonel Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman.
Suspected stowaway dies in Arik Air plane
A suspected stowaway has reportedly died in the undercarriage compartment of an Arik Air plane.
The body was evacuated by men of the Airport Police Command on Saturday.
A statement by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, which confirmed this, said the body was discovered in the Arik airbus A345, Reg CS-TFX, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Three die, over 20 shops destroyed in Mile 12 fire
An early morning inferno on Friday swept through a section of the popular Mile 12 market in Lagos, roasting three persons to death and destroying over 20 fully stocked shops.

I didn’t offer Tinubu VP slot -Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday said there was no truth in the claim by a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that he offered the former Lagos State governor the opportunity to serve as Vice President in a proposed Interim National Government.
Jonathan, who spoke with State House correspondents in Abuja through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, described Tinubu’s claim as absurd and ridiculous.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday compensated each of the 15 families that lost their loved ones in the stampede that occurred during the 2014 Nigerian Immigration Service’s recruitment exercise in Abuja to the tune of N5m each.
A total of N75m was handed over to the 15 families during an emotion-laden event held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja shortly after Jonathan returned to the nation’s capital city after his two-day visit to the South West.
Four soldiers die as troops uncover Yobe bomb factory
Four soldiers died in the course of the operation to clear terrorists from Buni-Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State as troops, on cordon and search, uncovered a bomb-making factory, where the improvised explosives devices, used by terrorists, are being produced.
The soldiers were reportedly killed by explosions while clearing the IEDs, which the terror group, Boko Haram, had deployed in different parts of the town.
