CAPE TOWN - Fires in parts of Cape Town have engulfed a lodge on Chapman's Peak in the early hours of Monday.

"No guests or stuff were hurt at Tintswalo Atlantic. Firefighters are on scene and the area has been cordoned off. At this stage we are not sure of the extent of damage the fire caused," said Lisa Goosen, CEO of Tintswalo.

The 5-star lodge is located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, within the Table Mountain National Park. 

A massive fire has spread across the Cape Peninsula. 

A retirement home and several homes also been affected. 

Emergency personnel were working to contain the fires.
