Flabba, real name Nkululeko Habedi rose to fame as a member of 90s rap group Skwatta Kamp.
The 38-year-old father was found dead at his family home in Alexandra in the early hours of this morning.
Police say his girlfriend has been taken in for questioning in connection with the murder, after claims the pair had been arguing.
Speaking to City Press, local police spokesman Lt Col Katlego Mogale confirmed the rapper's death.
At this stage we can confirm that a well-known musician was allegedly stabbed to death.
His girlfriend is in custody and she is expected to appear in court soon.

Friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to the artist, with the hashtag #RIPFlabba trending worldwide.
