Nick Gordon doesn't have a lot of fans in Bobbi Kristina Brown's family, but he does have the sympathy of her cousin, Jerod Brown. On Sunday, March 15, Jerod took to Facebook to defend Gordon amid claims from other relatives that Bobbi Kristina's longtime boyfriend "manipulated" her and is now "manipulating" the public.

"For the record: Nick has cooperated with the police department, he has cooperated with my uncle Bobby's request, he has given my family members as much information as he can," Jerod wrote in his post.

He went on to allude to Gordon's recent interview-turned-intervention with Dr. Phil, writing, "He has been exploited on national television with hidden cameras that he had no idea about. He has given Kristina CPR which is one of the reasons why she is not dead till this day. He has been ridiculed and accused without any concrete evidence, yet he still hasn't gotten the chance to visit his girl."

(Gordon has said publicly that Bobbi Kristina's family is keeping him from her bedside. However, Bobby Brown's legal counsel said in a statement last month that Gordon had been "offered an opportunity to potentially visit Bobbi Kristina" but "declined to meet the terms of any possible visit.")

Jerod's post comes on the heels of Gordon's talked-about appearance on Dr. Phil, during which his mom told the TV host that her son had tried twice to take his own life. "He cannot bear not being with Krissy, by her side," Michelle Gordon shared. "He's dealing with it by drinking."

Gordon himself admitted to needing help and broke down several times during the intervention. At one point, he even begged Dr. Phil not to show him on TV "crying" and "being weak."

Following the sit-down, Bobbi Kristina's aunt Leolah Brown told TMZ that she was suspicious of Nick's behavior. "I believe Nick is manipulating Dr. Phil just like he manipulated my niece Bobbi Kristina," she said. "I mean, that is what he's doing...His habits and his actions are not conducive nor are they consistent with anyone that is concerned for somebody."

Jerod, for one, thinks Gordon has gotten a bad rap. "If everyone truly believes that Nick is the blame for this situation," he wrote, "wouldn't you think he would already be locked up by now? #Facts"

Jerod has been very vocal about the situation with Bobbi Kristina, much to the Brown family's chagrin. Back in February, Bobby's legal counsel told the media to cease speaking with "unauthorized" relatives — "in particular, Jerod Brown aka Jerod Carter aka YF Kennedy."

"He has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family," attorney Christopher Brown said in a statement. "He must be disregarded."
