The tense relationship between Real Madrid fans and players is nearing a state of ‘beyond repair’ with Cristiano Ronaldo the latest to get a jeering from his own fans.
Having missed out by the skin of their teeth to getting knocked out of the Champions League by Schalke last week, the fans are restless, and are taking out their ire on whoever they like, with no respect for status.
On Sunday night, during a 2-0 home victory over Levante, the Santiago Bernabeu fans whistled the players, Ronaldo in particular, for what they deemed to be a poor performance.
A disbelieving Ronaldo turned and faced the fans (check video below), and appeared to utter the Portuguese expression ‘Fodanse’, meaning ‘Go fu*k yourself/selves’.

Club legend Iker Casillas has long been a target, while Gareth Bale has been at the forefront of the fans’ criticism since the turn of the year.
