Emmanuel Emenike’s brother, has revealed that the striker is fed up with the booing from the club’s fans and is consider leaving.
The Super Eagles frontman was hassled by fans as they lost 2-1 on Monday night to Akhisar Belediyespor. Ebuka, his older brother, accused the supporters of being “ingrates” and “disrespectful”.
“Fenerbahce fans are ingrate and disrespectful to Emma, their negative emotions towards him contributed to his goal drought,” he told AfricanFootball.
“This is a player who has given the club and fans everything on and off the pitch, and all they could do is to keep insulting him even when it was obvious he is doing his best.
“As a matter of fact, he’s not happy. The fans do not even appreciate him when he scores. He has become a target of boos by the fans whenever Fenerbahce play at home.
“When a player is not getting respect from his club fans, which means he’s not wanted, then they should allow him to go. Emma has never experienced such thing in his career. It’s not right for fans to keep booing their players, it will frustrate the player.”
“What is the big deal about missing chances? Is he (Emenike) the only striker who misses chances? What happened to Lionel Messi when he lost a penalty against Manchester City on Tuesday? Will Arsenal fans stone Olivier Giroud for missing that crucial chance against Monaco?
“The truth is that they cannot get his best when they behave in that manner. They need to stop and rather see how they could lift his spirit.”
