THE 33 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Wednesday, concluded the dislodgement and clearing of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) from Lame/Burra forest, which traverse Ningi and Torro Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.

The Disclosing this via a press release, The ​​​​​Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Kukasheka Usman, said during the operation which started since last weekend, quite a number of terrorists were killed, their weapons and equipment destroyed.


Similarly, Usman said "a sizeable number of arms, ammunitions, foodstuffs, Hilux vehicles, motorcycles and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered by the troops."

"The recovery include 3 Hilux vehicles, 12 motorcycles, 4 AK-47 rifles, 1 Fabrique Nationale rifle, 1 Small Machine Gun (SMG), 1 Police Teargas pistol, 36 Primed IEDs, 56 rifles magazines, over 500 rounds of 7.62 milimetre ammunition, 6 jerrycans of groundnut and palm oil and several IEDmaking materials amongst others," Usman said in the release.

It would be recalled that the forest had been notorious hideout of the terrorists from where they organize raids, kidnappings and attacks on hapless and innocent citizens and security forces.

"With this the surrounding communities would enjoy increased peace and security in their respective areas," Usman said.

Impressed by the professional manner in which this unprecedented feat was achieved, Usman said "the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General KTJ MInimah, commended the troops for a job well done."
