Barely 48 hours to the presidential elections, Buhari’s presidential campaign coordinator in Cross River State, Mr. U. Oko, has decamped from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Oko decamped with all his supporters and promised to mobilize support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan at the Saturday polls.
He informed the crowd of PDP supporters in Bekwarra that his decision to quit the APC for the PDP was because he realized that the President had played a great role in every sector of the economy.
To welcome him into the party was the PDP candidate for the House of Representative elections for Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Mr. Legor Idagbo.
Idagbo commended him for taking the bold step and noted that unlike the broom, the PDP umbrella was big enough to accommodate everyone, adding that Oko was a grassroot mobiliser and an astute politician who will contribute a great deal to the continued growth of the PDP in the State.
He assured Oko that he and all his supporters would be taken care of in the PDP.
Idagbo also stated that it was clear from all indications that President Jonathan was the more popular candidate and would win the presidential elections with a comfortable margin.
