At the entrance to the Iraqi city of Hawija eight lifeless bodies are strung up by their feet, in yet another public display of horror by the Islamic State.
The infamous black flag of terror is also clearly visible as onlookers gather to watch the abhorrent spectacle. Some of the dead men appear to be wearing military fatigues but it is not known if they were Iraqi soldiers.
An ISIS fighter believed to be Abu Al-Rahman poses in one of the pictures - giving the one-fingered IS salute in front of a victim's bloodied corpse.
It is believed that IS are planning to move their stronghold to Hawija, as the United States train Iraqi troops to re-take the city of Mosul, where they are currently headquartered.
Hawija is a predominantly Sunni Muslim town which lies off a major highway leading to Mosul and the capital Baghdad.
Since ISIS first invaded the city in June 2014, it quickly conquered neighbouring villages until it had enough support from locals to establish its new base there.
But it is not the first time the city has made headlines for sinister reasons.
A shocking video released in February showed orange-clad captives being paraded in cages in Hawija.
Baying mobs taunted the kidnapped men during the procession which echoed the terrible death suffered by captured Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh.
He was also caged before a film of him being burned alive, implying the same fate would befall the trapped captives in Hawija.
