He’s no stranger to controversial comments – and now Kanye West has made another shocking but seemingly serious statement.

After likening having his picture taken by the paparazzi to “rape” last year, the rapper has compared making a bad fashion choice to “getting a prostitute pregnant”.

In an interview with French online channel Clique TV, he said: “When I was young, I was really scared to walk into luxury stores. It's very non-inviting and it's very expensive.

“Like, f**k if you're not knowledgeable you can make a very expensive mistake—an extremely, like, it's bordering on getting a prostitute pregnant or something like that.”

The “Bound 2” singer has become even more involved in the fashion world after debuting his Yeezy Boost trainers as part of his collaboration with Adidas at New York Fashion Week last month.

The 37-year-old rapper gave the 35 minute interview during his time in France for Paris Fashion Week.

Kanye West in quotes: The rapper's greatest self comparisons

In the same interview, he also called racism “dated” and “silly”, claiming “it’s not an actual thing that even means anything”.

“It’s a silly concept that people try to touch on…to separate, to alienate, to pinpoint anything. It’s so stupid.

“It’s like bouncing ball in a room with two cats, or something, when you don’t feel like playing with a cat. Let them literally fight over the bouncing ball. And the bouncing ball has nothing, no purpose, anything other than that: it bounces.

"That’s racism. It’s not an actual thing that means anything.”

But West did said he thought the N-word was “difficult for black people right now”, when asked about white fans singing along to his hit “N***ers in Paris”.

“It does hurt when we hear that because we’re still in a generation that remembers when racism was a big thing that held people back.”
