Nkuli Flabba Habedi was so good he never had to work hard; this is how his close friend Slikour described his music career.
Speaking at his memorial in Newtown, Johannesburg, Slikour said that the slain 38 year-old rapper was so good that he did not need the music industry but the music industry needed him.

He said Flabba was probably at his busiest in the last couple of months with features on multiple songs among other things, and he believes that was his way of saying goodbye.

"He was saying goodbye, he was saying goodbye with the thing that he love the most which was music.

"The concert he was at this weekend (Axecess) was the probably the biggest international slash local concert that happened this year. So you tell me, what was the story," said Slikour.
People took to the stage reminiscing about their past times with Flabba, describing him as funny, authentic and caring.

Sbusiso Leope, best know as Dj Sbu, said he gets saddened whenever a young life is lost. He mentioned stars such as Senzo Meyiwa, Simba Mhere and now Flabba who lost their lives at young ages.

"It's always a sad case when you have young people pass on, especially young people who were looked up on by millions of other young people in the country. The fact that they had to die through a violent situation is always sad," he said.
Sbu said that he appreciated Flabba because he did not deter from speaking his mind.

"He called a spade a spade. He was strictly and 100 percent hood, he was real.”

"His lyrics represented who he was and where he came from. He didn't convince the real Flabba with something that he wasn't," added Sbu.
Fellow rapper Reason said that Flabba was his favourite Skwatta Kamp member and one of his all time favourite rappers.

"He taught me a lot as an artist because back then when we were trying to rap and record they were the best reference to what hip hop was at that time.

"So for me it is like my favourite superhero has passed on," said Reason.

He said that Flabba’s death does not only affect him as a fellow rapper but also as a fan.

Speaking on the manner that the rapper died, Reason said that it made him think about general conflict in relationships.

"I even tweeted about it yesterday saying that it made me think a lot about conflict in relationships and how we deal with conflict in relationships, whether it's a fight or an ongoing thing.
"I mean who knows what happened, what was said that lead to whatever we have now but our conflict management is really key in our lives. People need to accept walk away you know, less violence," explained Reason.

Flabba's new and old music was played throughout the service.

Kwesta performed "Do Like I Do" where he featured Flabba to an excited crowd that helped him with Flabba's verse.

Music producer JR also performed Flabba's new nice tune 'Nay' Inkinga' that is set to take the hip hop industry by storm.
