Police on Tuesday denied media reports rapper Flabba’s girlfriend attempted suicide after he was stabbed to death in his Alexandra home early on Monday morning.

“She did not try to kill herself,” police spokesperson Katlego Mogale told eNCA.

Sindisiwe Precious Manqele made a brief appearance in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday where her case was postponed to 16 March for a formal bail application.

The 26-year old woman is facing a murder charge.

On the instruction of her lawyer, she told the court she had also sustained injuries, and pointed to wounds on her arms and stomach, and bruises to her body.

The lawyer told the magistrate Manqele was in a lot of pain. The magistrate agreed to have her examined by a private doctor.

Flabba, whose real name is Nkululeko Habedi, was stabbed once in the heart at around 2am on Monday morning.

Reports yesterday said the Skwatta Kamp member and Manqele had gotten into an argument which turned physical.

“An argument between the couple turned out to be something bigger than what we thought it would be. This is not something we expected, the fight was not even physical, it was a verbal argument that they were having, we did not think it would escalate to this,” a close friend who witnessed the incident said at the time.

Flabba’s cousin, Luyanda, meanwhile said Manqele attempted suicide when she realised her boyfriend was dying.

“She broke a bottle and she tried slitting her wrist,” he was quoted as saying.
