The All Progressives Congress, APC, has been dealt another bitter blow, as the party chairman in Rivers state, Chief Davies Ikanya joins the legion of members that have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Reports from the chairman’s aides reveal that Chief Davies Ikanya, held a meeting with top PDP leaders to discuss his defection, Scannews reveals.
According to the reliable source, Chief Ikanya asked the PDP chieftains to exercise little patience with him while he resolves some pending financial issues with the Governor.
One of his Special Assistants, Mr. James K. Iyok who confirmed the meeting with the leadership of the PDP said Ikanya has promised to mobilize support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The state party chairman, has towed the path of the Deputy Governor of the State Tele Ikuru by denouncing the APC, and clamouring for support for President Goodluck Jonathan at the polls on Saturday.
