Slain Orlando Pirates soccer player Senzo Meyiwa's parents are adamant that they know who killed him.
According to Sam and Ntombifuthi Meyiwa, they know exactly who shot and killed Senzo in Vooslorus last year.
The aggrieved parents told Drum magazine in an exclusive interview that there were no armed robbers who broke into Kelly Khumalo's childhood home. Instead, they were told by one of the people present in the house that there was a scuffle which broke out, and Meyiwa was shot "by mistake."
However, the Meyiwas are unwilling to divulge details of the killer. They are afraid to talk.
"If I were to give you the name of the killer, I would be arrested," said Ntombifuthi Meyiwa.
The Meyiwas add that police were told by an eyewitness who was inside the house, what really happened but are still investigating.
At the time of the shooting, Kelly Khumalo told authorities that armed robbers stormed the house and while protecting her, Meyiwa was shot. Her story was corroborated by her sister Zandi, Longwe Twala, her mother and two of Meyiwa's friends.
Khumalo has stated she is unable to speak any further about what happened that night until the investigation is complete.
